The EPCOT icon. Probably has some deep significance, but it completely escaped me

image

While pacing impatiently for the World to open, we noticed Morocco just across the lagoon

image

Easy one here - Guess what country this represents? Canada of course. Canada??

image

A scene from the English section

image

The "pub" where Bangers and Mash can be had for the price of a nice steak

image

Like Disneyworld, EPCOT is the ultimate business model. Each country represented finances their village and Disney just reaps the rewards. Airlines to Orlando compete with each other to pay $50 million to Disney just to be the Disney Airline for a year

How Bedknobs and Broomsticks

My English Maid

image

Mexico - where else?

image

Norway was represented, I don't know why

image

Apart from a lick or two of paint, Marian declared that the China village was identical to that of a quarter century ago

image

Wow!

image

Probably all done by starving child labor

image

Chinese fast food and trinket store

image

Of course, this was the trinket Marian fell in love with

image

Yo! We have to be somewhere else now. Question is, where?

image

Germany of course. The Fatherland is not all steelworks and goldmines, it has fairy castles as well

image

Another German hallmark - steep roofs and pointy cupolas

image

On to Italy. Probably a lucky thing that the Doge is long since dead, because the one look at this effigy of his palace, would probably have killed him

image

There were few indications as to what any of the individual pieces were, where they are in the country in question or what their significance is. If a visitor had not actually visited the country, EPCOT would be one huge mystery tour with food

image

The USA exhibit. A generic institutional building. Makes one proud to be American

image

Japan. Gosh, I feel suddenly edified after seeing this

image

Now I understand. Bend the ends upward and it reeks of Japan!

image

Another place that I've never been although I recognized it immediately from the sign that said Morocco

image

Exciting, eh?

image

Finally, France. The pylon in the background of course, is the Eiffel Tower. Overall, the themed Las Vegas casinos are a much richer experience, more fun and you can go back day after day for FREE
