Peppa was seriously in need of some sea gull chasing exercise. Her periodic plods to the Potty Park in Bluewater were doing little to work off her chicken-a-day lifestyle so off we went to a beach recommended as "little used"

At some point along the shore, I think Dave dropped a dime and the entire crew stopped dead to search for it. Peppa kept a wary eye on the seagulls

Dave was determined not to quit on that dime...

...despite Lynn's exhortations to leave it and she would give him a new one

Eventually, Peppa's need for refreshment eclipsed the conflict and the team regrouped. None of us two-legged idiots had brought along any kind of sustenance for ourselves but Peppa was well served with chilled bottled water served in fine china

This particular beach runs along the southern end of Key West Naval Air Station. One reason cited for locating the Station here was the ability to conduct year round training

image

On this particular Sunday afternoon this was certainly true. By the way, during the civil war when Florida seceded from the Union, Key West was a Union Naval Base and remained so throughout the conflict

After a couple of hours trudge, we realized why the beach is described as "little used" - no rational person would want to return
