Our (ill-considered) plan was to load the RV "must-have" items in the back of the toad and drive to Florida. Pathetically, the toad was filled to the roof by the time we had loaded our toys and diversions needed to amuse us on the road. Re-group. One U-Haul trailer later (and a hasty lighting rewire) and we quickly had room at least for the bare necessities. Hurrah!

Loaded up to hit the road, we hit the road

Three more encounters with great American hostelries were more than enough to reaffirm our preference for the RV lifestyle. Traveling over the 4th July weekend probably made this trip especially memorable

This little trailer weighs almost 2 tons when empty and has a payload of another ton. The toad (Saturn Vue) weigh around 3,600# and hauling an additional 5,000# really clobbered the fuel consumption

In the meantime, Lazydays had discovered an ABS error code in the new coach which was traced to an entirely wrong bearing having been installed in the main drive axle. The 1/4' of the roller race extending outside of the outer ring was the scale of the discrepancy. This major coach component is assembled by Eaton. Glad it wasn't anything important

What a humbling sight - our entire lives in a little box...

And here is the first sight of the new coach. Marian is inside rocking back and forth on the sofa, clutching her security blanket

Please admire the patio blind for this is likely the last time it will ever be extended. We can hardly wait to shut ourselves inside and close all the blinds - camping is such fun!
